STARTUP

This page will explain you how to start, step by step. You can also find complete description in the Package page.

In any case, you can take all the content of the delivered object into your inventory.

If you afforded the Group.Invitor, go to GROUP INVITOR PRE-STARTUP herebelow.

If you afforded the Group.Invitor.FIXED, go to GROUP INVITOR FIXED PRE-STARTUP herebelow.

GROUP INVITOR PRE-STARTUP

First thing to do is to check your group setting is inline with Group.Invitor service needs. For this, do the following:

  1. Go in your groups list. Open the Information window for your group, and watch the "General" tabsheet
    • Ensure the checkbox "Show in Search" is checked
    • Ensure the checkbox "Open enrollment" is checked
    • Ensure the checkbox "Enrollment fee" is left unchecked
  2. Go in the "Members and Roles" tabsheet. And choose "Roles" sub tabsheet
  3. Select the "Everyone" role
  4. Look at the "Allowed abilities" list, and make sure the permission "Invite People to this group" is checked
  5. Press "OK" button

GROUP INVITOR FIXED PRE-STARTUP

First thing to do is to go to MyRoBoT HeadQuarters, to rent a your rentbox.

Once there, choose any free rentbox and pay it. The box will give you 2 bots names.

You will have 5 minutes to invite these 2 bots to your group, to any role you want.

The bots will remain in your group as long as the rentbox is kept rented.

PRIM REZZING

From now on, your group should be ready to handle invitations. You have to decide how you want people to be invited:

Note: Whatever choice you take, it is highly recommended to start with a OnTouch device, at least to check your group configuration is ok. Then you can delete it and switch to your real needed object.

  • "I want to invite people when they click an object":
  • "I want to invite people automatically when they come to my shop": you have 2 choices:
    • (Recommended) People can be invited when passing through an invisible prim (nice when you have a landing point):
    • People can be invited while they are "sensed" in a given perimeter from the invitor:
  • "I want to invite people when they buy an item through my vendor system: Apez iVend, or HippoVend, or JEVN, or on XStreetSL":
  • "I want to invite people when they rent a shop with my renting system: Apez Autolease or HippoRent system" (ONLY AVAILABLE TO GROUP.INVITOR.FIXED USERS):

STARTING WITH ONTOUCH

Go into your inventory and rez a OnTouch on the ground.

The first thing to do is to check if you have invitations requests credits. For this, you need to:

  • Click OnTouch central panel, you will get a menu, as described in the Package page.
  • Choose "Credits", then "Status". The machine will give you your account status:
    • If your account is not empty, you're fine !
    • If your account is empty, you need to refill it. You can do this by clicking the central panel, choose "Credits", then "Extend" in the menu. Then right click the OnTouch and select "Pay"

Note: On first usage, you should have 100 invitations credits. If not, they will be added to your account soon.


Once you have credits, you can start configuring your OnTouch:

  • Click OnTouch central panel, and choose "Group" in the menu
  • In the chat, type the exact name of your group and validate by ENTER
  • The OnTouch will try to find your group, and will display its name and texture, if found
  • Click again the central panel, and choose "Test" in the menu
  • After a while, you will get a message indicating the bot can't invite as you're already member. You're done ! Any other person not being group member and clicking the OnTouch will be invited !
  • You can see any time what happened with your account and who was invited and where, via the menu: "Statistics", "Web Stats"

You can choose to rez again some OnTouch objects, or some others. Go to PRIM REZZING.

STARTING WITH ONDETECT

Go into your inventory and rez a OnTouch on the ground.

  • Click OnDetect, and choose "Group" in the menu
  • In the chat, type the exact name of your group and validate by ENTER
  • The OnDetect will try to find your group, and will tell you if found
  • Click again, and choose "OnLine" in the menu. You will see the OnDetect is going invisible (but you can still click it).
  • Go "inside" the OnDetect prim. After a while, you will get a message indicating the bot can't invite as you're already member. You're done !

You can choose to rez again some OnDetect objects, or some others. Go to PRIM REZZING.

STARTING WITH ONSENSOR

Go into your inventory and rez a OnSensor on the ground.

  • Click OnSensor, and choose "Group" in the menu
  • In the chat, type the exact name of your group and validate by ENTER
  • The OnSensor will try to find your group, and will tell you if found
  • Click again, and choose "OnLine" in the menu. You will see the OnSensor is changing color.
  • Keep inside a 30 distance (this is default value, but it can be changed) from OnSensor. After a while (around 1 min), you will get a message indicating the bot can't invite as you're already member. You're done !

You can choose to rez again some OnSensor objects (but be carefull, as sensor use Sim resources), or some others. Go to PRIM REZZING.
